Electricity users face different pricing depending on the type and purpose of use at consumption points. In liberalized electricity markets, it is aimed to abolish electricity tariffs and bill users according to their consumption habits. Here are these subscriber groups and their features:

Residential Subscriber Group

It is the subscriber group designated for electricity used in homes. The residential tariff, which was one of the cheapest tariffs in the past, has reached the same levels as the commercial tariff with the increases in recent years. Apartments, sites and common areas (e.g. staircase lighting, elevators, hydrophores) are included in this group. Temporary accommodation centers established by AFAD are also included in the residential subscriber group.

The advantage of the residential subscriber group is that it falls within the scope of the Consumer Protection Law. In this way, when support cannot be received from EMRA for problems experienced, solutions can be found by applying to Consumer Arbitration Committees via district governorships or E-Government. In addition, the residential subscriber group does not have to pay the reactive fee as long as the contract power does not exceed 9 kW.

Industry Subscriber Group

The industrial subscriber group includes industrial enterprises. Industrial enterprises are places that change the quality, shape or properties of a substance and produce it. These businesses must obtain a capacity report from the chamber of industry to which they are affiliated in order to obtain an Industrial Registry Certificate. The document is valid for two years and must be issued a visa every two years.

The Industrial Registry Certificate must be submitted to the relevant electricity distribution company or the assigned supply company. If the document is not presented, the electricity tariff may be converted from the industrial tariff to the commercial tariff. Therefore, document expiry dates should be followed carefully. Treatment facilities can also be included in the industrial subscriber group if they meet certain conditions and are documented.

Agricultural Irrigation Subscriber Group

Electricity used for irrigation of agricultural lands falls into this subscriber group. In order to be included in the agricultural irrigation subscriber group, a groundwater use certificate or water use permit obtained from official institutions is required. Since agricultural irrigation subscriptions are often not used correctly, high reactive penalties and malfunctions can be encountered.

Ticarethane Subscriber Group

The business subscriber group includes businesses that sell products or produce services. Hotels, hospitals, markets, cafes and shopping malls are included in this group. This subscriber group has pricing close to the residential tariff and is covered by the reactive fee. Installing a compensation panel is important to avoid reactive penalties.

Last Resource Tariff

Last Resource Tariff covers subscribers who exceed the limit determined by EMRA or who have not signed a contract with the assigned supply company. In this tariff, YEKDEM and other costs are added to the stock market prices. Therefore, it is one of the most expensive tariffs. It is planned to reduce the limit every year.

Electricity subscriber groups offer different pricing according to users' consumption habits and needs. Knowing the advantages and requirements of these subscriber groups is important to choose the right tariff and reduce costs.
